Continue reading to learn about a few of the top athletes we’ve worked with.

Jordan Reed’s Concussion Journey

Jordan Reed suffered his seventh concussion and could not play for most of the 2019 season, and was then let go from the Washington Football Team. He was being recruited by Russell Wilson to play for the Seattle Seahawks for the 2020-21 season, and Wilson introduced Reed to Plasticity Center to be evaluated for his recurring concussion symptoms. Russell knew of Plasticity after Plasticity had helped his sister Anna recover from her concussion.

Plasticity Centers evaluated and treated Jordan Reed, and after his treatment plan, he was picked up by the San Francisco 49ers to play for the 2020-21 season. He had an amazing comeback year, but an injury and another concussion prevented him from finishing out the season.

Reed reached back out to Plasticity Centers in early 2021, and this time, we recommended that he complete a qSpect brain scan from our friends at CereScan. Plasticity also evaluated and treated Reed and by the end of the week — after a detailed review of Reed’s health goals and with the insights gained from the brain scan — our doctors recommended that Reed consider ending his professional football career.

On April 19, 2021, Reed announced that he was retiring from the NFL after eight seasons. He is planning on becoming a brain injury advocate, helping others improve their quality of life after brain injuries.

We are proud to have played a part in Jordan Reed’s recovery, and honored to work with top athletes like Reed.
92% of Plasticity Centers post-concussion patients have a substantial improvement
of their symptoms after our five-day Intensive Experience program, and Jordan Reed is one of the many athletes we have helped over the years.
